Sculpy!

I've been getting mucky tonight making some heart beads out of sculpy, I'll try painting them tomorrow. Lots of fun. Then I got tired and silly and made a creepy finger wearing a ring. We'll see what that ends up like...heehee. Show you later. Also I've been checking out some of the one heart one world contest entries, so many gorgeous creations. I think I might join tomorrow, its a bit late but you are allowed to enter until Feb 8th I believe. Going to bed now, good night.

New on Etsy

Purple, green and gold earrings.

Matching purple green and gold bracelet.

I've just finished putting them in my shop on Etsy right here: www.etsy.com/shop/TriannasTreasures

The Blue bracelet

This is the bracelet I was talking about a couple of posts ago.

It was pretty dificult to photograph; I took about 60 pictures and only ended up with these three that got the colors nicely and weren't fuzzy.

As I was taking the photos I was thinking that I'd like to make another one in similar colors but in a simpler style. I love blues.

I've got the Blues but its not so bad.

I was at the local bead shop the other day and found a lovely assortment of blue glass beads, and replenished my silver findings. Then the next day at work someone requested that I pick up a going away gift for a coworker who is leaving us to move on to more hours and more pay elsewhere. So I decided to make her a bracelet instead; she loved it and recommended I contact a friend of hers who runs a beauty shop (called something like mud and honey I'll have to get the details from her) downtown and is looking for some jewelry makers to sell their creations in her space. The bracelet was silver and blue with a toggle clasp, I liked it so much I had to make another one nearly the same with a lobster claw clasp and extender instead so that it will fit a variety of wrists. I'll post some pictures when my camera battery is found and charged. Now we can both have the blues when she is gone.

Valentines and Feathers

I have been pretty busy lately upcycling old jewelry with new compoents to make some neat stuff. These are two of the Valentines Items I've made and will soon be posting to Etsy. I really love the way the one below turned out.

I finally listened to my cousins advice and bought some feathers to use in my jewelry designs. I chose some neutral colored feathers with a nice pattern. Here are a few of the results in the feather experiment. I rather like some of them, what do you think?

I love the contrast between the wild feathers and the conservative pearls.

So delicate and beautiful with blue glass beads.

More pearls with feathers; they are my favorite way to use the feathers so far.

I had fun trying to match up pairs of feathers to use for earrings.

Beautiful Necklace contest

I have just entered a contest at http://rosyrevolver.blogspot.com/ she is offering many ways to enter to win a beautiful necklace.

New Jewelry

Jewelry is so much fun to make, so many pretty beads and you can be creative in many different ways. I have recently made a pendant using pink quartz, mother of pearl and silver. I used a wire wrapping technique to affix the beads to a silver ring. I think it turned out pretty nice; the finished product reminds me of the moon. I have listed it in my Etsy shop, you can see it here http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=38432400 . I also made a copper and snake skin jasper bracelet that I have wire wrapped and fastened with a hand made hook clasp. I will be putting it up in my Etsy shop soon.

I've added Something diferent to my Etsy Store.

I've made this pretty little flower art and put it into a lovely vintage frame. I made it a couple months ago, but only just decided to try and sell it. I almost decided to keep it. Its very sweet, and I hope it finds a happy new home.

I've cleaned up the tree

I never quite feel like a new year has started until I put away the evidence of christmas. The tree came down today, Rick and the kids both helped me. Tomorrow they'll go out to the garage for another year. I am excited to get creating again now that Christmas and New Years are over with and I have more room. I expect I'll be posting many new projects soon. In the mean while here are some of the organza flower beaded hairpins I've been making. They are for sale in my Etsy shop.

Working up some resolve

I am putting my resolutions down in print so that come next year I can reflect on them and see how things went. One thing I am going to do more of is anything that gets me out of the house such as walking, skating, swimming, visiting. Something that gets me out of the house doing anything besides work, shopping and coffee. This would have the benefits of feeling more productive as well as getting more excersise and seeing my friends more often. Another thing is that I would like to put at least one new item in my Etsy store each week. Finally I want to save some money in the hopes of eventually doing a bit of travelling. I have been mooning over photo blogs from all over the world, wishing I was there.

Christmas day in Nanaimo

I lived in Nanaimo from the ages of 3-17 and this is a park near downtown Nanaimo... where the arena used to be.

This is the same park but instead of looking from Nanaimo towards the ocean it is from the ocean looking towards Nanaimo. From underneath an overpass near the Tally Ho Motel.
I think this part is called Swa-a-lana Lagoon. I had fun balancing on the edge of one of those cement dividers all the way across to the other side.

This one was taken from the far side of the lagoon looking out at the islands in the Straight.

In this photo you can see Newcastle Island off the the right. It was a very nice day for a walk....

This is one I snapped of Rick by the totems at Departure Bay Beach. I used to live near there.

This is the only Santa I saw this christmas; looks like he's heading home after a hard day.
When we headed back to moms house they had dinner nearly ready. We helped with a few odds and ends and then dug in to a delicious Christmas meal. Then the six of us piled back into the car for a squishy ride back to Victoria.

I haven't written in a while, I've been chilling out and having a pretty laid back holiday season. We went skating twice, which is something I had not done since I was about 11.. very scary and fun. Last night for New Years Eve Richard, myself and my two boys all cuddled up on the couches and watched movies, then went to bed by 12:30. Yesterday was the first day of the New Year and my first day back at work. I was feeling rather sad and poor me about going back. The building didn't smell very nice. Coworkers weren't very upbeat. But by dinner time when I was giving everyone their food they were all so happy to see me I became happy to see them all to. Smiles and happiness truly are more contagious than pouts and frowns I think. Also It felt good to be busy and productive again.
